With over 20 years of experience, I will design a session to meet your needs. After a brief intake discussing your concerns and goals, and orthopedic testing and clarifying questions if needed to determine the cause of any pain, a treatment plan for your session will be explained and informed consent received before proceeding with treatment.

Your customized session uses an eclectic approach utilizing a variety of modalities I have studied, including some that are described below. (Click here for a complete list of my training.)

You can schedule your session to be 60-120 minutes with 15 minute increments between.

Every session is tailored for you, including your comfort!

  • choose which areas are worked on or if you want a “full body” massage*

  • your session can be relaxing, therapeutic or both

  • lotion or oil can be used, scented or unscented (a variety of aromatherapy options are available)

  • choose how much you undress, or if you undress…

  • if you want the room warm or cool, table heated or not, fan on or off

  • choose your own music; ask Alexa to play anything

  • talk or don’t talk during your session

  • how much pressure I use ranges light to deep, adjusted as needed

  • This list could go on and on and on… or you can read this for more.

*A “full body” massage includes treatment for your scalp, face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, abdomen (only if requested), legs, feet, gluts, and back.

precision neuromuscular therapy

PNMT is an advanced form of soft-tissue therapy for the treatment of muscular discomfort which may be a recent injury/irritation or a discomfort that has persisted for too long. Discover and eliminate the source of your discomfort by narrowing the field of problem muscles through assessment and testing; your communication is crucial to verify accuracy! Unlike traditional massage, PNMT is extremely thorough but limited to the areas involved: this focus is incredibly relaxing and satisfying, as most people have never experienced such thorough treatment. Having dedicated hundreds of hours in training to this work and passing a rigorous certification process, I am confident treating your soft-tissue pain and dysfunction.

swedish relaxation massage

This is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. In Swedish massage, you lie unclothed on a massage table and are covered with a sheet. Oil or lotion is used to deliver long, gliding repetitive massage strokes to promote a deep sense of relaxation and peace.

craniosacral therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. Disrobing is not necessary for this treatment.

manual lymphatic drainage

This is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that has a powerful effect on the body. Research in Australia, Europe and North America has proven its efficacy as a stand-alone treatment and in combination with other therapies. Developed in France in 1932 by Emil and Estrid Vodder MLD has grown to be the most well known manual technique to assist lymph flow and aid in drainage of tissues. The skin is stretched and torqued in a specific manner, based on scientific, physiological principles that have proven to encourage lymph flow. If performed correctly with the correct pressure, direction and speed, this can greatly enhance recovery and facilitate drainage. It also has profound effects on systems in the body. Disrobing is necessary for this treatment. MLD techniques can be included in your customized service.

thai yoga massage

A.K.A. Lazy Man's Yoga. Every person who has received one has said the same thing-that they feel more alive afterward! Using compression massage, acupressure and stretching, your muscles are awakened and your energy lines opened, leaving you both relaxed and energized. It's like doing yoga without the work. Usually done fully clothed on a padded mat on the floor without oil. Please wear stretchable clothing. Sorry, the full Thai massage experience with cleansing of the feet and a comfortable mat for the service to be performed on the ground is not available at this time due to space, but many techniques can be included on the table. Weather permitting, this can be done outside.

rocktape

kinesiotaping

Taping can provide a reminder for better posture, offer support to an injured muscle or joint, relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and make the benefits of your soft tissue therapy last longer. There is an additional fee for this service. Please let me know if you would like to add this to your appointment when you arrive.

cupping

cupping therapy

Suction cups provide a negative pressure on the skin, muscles, and fascia. This is in contrast to the positive pressure of the deep tissue massage, and can be a very relaxing and soothing experience. Enhancing blood flow (local circulation), speeding up recovery time, warming the skin, softening tissue, regaining elasticity, and reducing inflammation are all ways that cupping begins the healing and regeneration process. There is no extra charge for cupping.
