waxing
Waxing services are offered for all facial areas including: brow clean-up, nostrils, ear opening and flap, upper lip, chin and jaw using hard wax.
Maximum results will be attained if hair is at least 1/4" long and the area to be waxed has been exfoliated 1-2 days prior. You must wait 4 weeks between waxings.
To ensure maximum comfort and benefit after the treatment, it is important to follow the steps below at home:
Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.
If breakout occurs, use an anti-acne lotion following the treatment and twice a day until breakouts are gone. Use only an anti-acne product recommended by your skin care professional.
Avoid suntanning always, but at least for 24 hours. This includes any strong ultraviolet (UV) light exposure or tanning bed treatments.
Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays.
Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliants in the waxed area. However if you are prone to in-grown hairs, the day after your waxing treatment, exfoliate newly waxed area lightly with a loofah to avoid future problems.
Any pinking of the skin should disappear within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Slight pinking is normal, and indicates that the hair was removed from the root, rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving. This is the reason that professional waxing lasts so much longer.
For best results, repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate.
Waxing can be added on to most other services; the exception is that it cannot be done the same day as other advanced exfoliation like microdermabrasion or peels.
dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation similar in theory to microdermabrasion but without the use of suction or abrasive crystals. A medical-grade scalpel is used to gently remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz). This is a painless treatment that has very minimal side effects including light redness immediately following treatment. Dermaplaning leaves your skin completely smooth and ready to better absorb your favorite skincare products (making them more effective), allows for a flawless make-up applicationr skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and evens skin tone.
This method of exfoliation is great if you have couperose (tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin), sensitive skin or allergies that prevent you from using microdermabrasion and chemical peels. If you are looking for completely smooth skin that is hair-free this is also a great option. As far as intensity of exfoliation, dermaplaning falls in between microdermabrasion and chemical peels. This service in contraindicated for clients with active or cystic acne.
This service can be included with your customized facial.
